The Original “Girl Gone Wild”

As the anticipation and excitement for Madonna’s newest album builds, the Queen of Pop has been releasing snippets of songs on the new album. A couple of days ago, she released a steamy new video. The video, “Girl Gone Wild,” seems to be an homage to her earlier, “controversial” days in the early 1990s. It’s like a modern-day mash-up of her music videos “Express Yourself,” “Vogue,” “Justify My Love,” “Erotica,” and “Human Nature.” It’s sexy. It’s crazy. It’s vintage Madonna 2012. We love it. 🙂

*WARNING: This is the uncensored version of the video…

**Oh, and for those who say it’s a copy of Lady GaGa’s “Alejandro,” you don’t really know what you’re talking about. Madonna did the gender-bending-guys-in-heels thing first (1991’s “Justify My Love”). 😉

More Previews of MDNA

Madonna’s upcoming album, MDNA, comes out in less than three weeks…and from the songs and previews we’ve heard and seen, it’s going to be amazing. The Queen is back and she’s more bad-ass than ever.

Click here to preview the track “I’m Addicted.” Apparently, Perez Hilton got the chance to hear the album and will be previewing a few songs over the next few weeks. Um, “insanely jealous” doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about that… 😛

Last week, the track “Girl Gone Wild” came out, first as a lyrics video on VEVO and then as a single on iTunes. Listen to the opening track (first on the album) below…it’ll make you “feel like sinnin'” 😉   *I love that it’s reminiscent of her 10th album, Confessions on a Dance Floor

The video for the first single, “Give Me All Your Luvin'” (released February 3rd)…

**Update: On March 7 (the day after I posted this), snippets of “I’m Addicted” and “Love Spent” were posted to Madonna’s official YouTube channel.

**March 9 Update: Previews of “Gang Bang” and the video for “Girl Gone Wild.” This album is going to be epic 😀

Madonna’s Most Memorable Live Performances

Madonna performed the best Super Bowl halftime show in NFL history. Was it spectacular? Yes. Was it memorable? Oh, yes. Were people talking about it. Twitter definitely says “yes.” As a matter of fact, there was an average of about 8,000 tweets per second for five minutes while the Queen of Pop put on one of the greatest, memorable shows in Super Bowl and television history. Celebrities and journalists also chimed in…

“Go on Madonna with your baaaad self. Loved it!” – CNN host Don Lemon

**Update to this post as of February 6, 2012: The Super Bowl game itself garnered a 47.8 rating (apparently, that’s really good…). Madonna’s halftime performance garnered a rating of 48.3. Around 114 million people tuned in to watch the halftime show, the most in Super Bowl history. That’s right, Madonna officially won the Super Bowl. 😉 Her new single, “Give Me All Your Luvin'” is number two on iTunes (US store), her future album, MDNA is number one, and the music video “Give Me All Your Luvin'” is also number one**

Madonna - Bridgestone Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show

Madonna has been pushing buttons, setting records and churning out hit songs for almost thirty years. Throughout her career, she’s delivered several great performances that had people talking and entertained, dancing their asses off in arenas around the world.

She’s been provocative. She’s been sexual. She’s initiated and sparked public dialogue on things like censorship, self-reliance, feminism, sex, homophobia, sexism and racism. She’s even received the wrath of the Vatican a couple times. Oh, and she’s also the most successful female artist of all time. She’s still a force of nature at age 53.

Here’s a few of Madonna’s most memorable moments live. Take a trip down memory lane or see what all the fuss was about “back in the day.” I’ve also provided her age at the time each video was originally aired live so you can see how timeless she is and the incredible shape she’s been in and maintained throughout her career. Watch the Queen of Pop put on some of the greatest shows on Earth. 🙂

Just A Reminder…

Just because I’ve been writing a lot about Madonna lately doesn’t mean I’ve given up on writing about current events, philosophy, etc. I’m still reading newspapers (in print and online), watching television news and keeping up with the latest headlines via Twitter.

Madonna just released a new single, is about to perform at the Super Bowl halftime on Sunday (for the first time in her career), will release her new album in late March AND will go on tour later this year. You all know I’m a huge Madonna fan and seeing how she’s my favorite artist, I’ll be writing about her a lot during this monumental year.

And yes, I’ll still write on current events. Expect my two cents on something in the news to come shortly. I do, after all, want to have my career in news and journalism. 😉

“Give Me All Your Luvin'”

Here it is, ladies and gentlemen, the highly anticipated, amazing new video from the reigning Queen of Pop…
